3.2 Product features and functionality
The Inspector83x is a compact and flexible 2D vision sensor that offers a convenient
solution to high-speed visual inspection tasks, such as sorting or finding defects during
production.
With the AI inspection option, industrial machine vision becomes easier than ever
through teaching by example and offers unprecedented inspections possibilities. Rule-
based inspection gives detailed control over measurements and acceptance criteria.
The web interface of SICK Nova provides the main mean of configuration and can
be accessed over the Gigabit Ethernet port or USB-C-based network interface. A pro‐
gramming interface provides additional customization options through plug-in or app
development in Lua.
It is easy to capture great high-resolution images with the integrated illumination and
high-quality lenses. For custom setups, the C-mount lens thread makes it possible
to use unusual lenses. The external illumination connection makes it possible to use
illumination accessories such as bar light, ring light, or backlight.
Integration features such as dual port fieldbus, Gigabit Ethernet, digital input and
output, external illumination control, image logging over network, microSD card slot
ensures convenient operation.
