Setting the span gas concentration
1 After the span gas values have leveled out (
→
P. 40, § 3.11), select "Factor setting"
2 Select the component to be set and press "ENTER".
Note: You can only select the component for which span gas is currently fed (span gas
valve open). All other components are blocked.

Fig. 50, the text "Factor setting" is shown in the message line.
The setting of the span gas concentration is completed when this text disappears and
only the text "CAL gas open" (
→
Fig. 50) is displayed.
4 Terminate span gas feeding with "CAL Manu Stop"

can only be tested using "automatic span gas feeding". Correction runs automatically.
1 Recommendation: Check in the menu "Specialist: System edit: Calibration data"
whether the correct span gas concentrations have been entered (--> Operating Instruc-
tions MCS100E). Note: For this menu, you require the password for the "Specialist
level".
2 Press the F6 key and the menu for automatic span gas feeding is displayed.
3 Use the cursor keys to go to "Cal O2" and press "ENTER".

4 Confirm safety prompt with "Yes". Span gas feeding is performed automatically. The
span gas concentration is corrected automatically.
5 The MCS100E HW switches automatically to measuring mode after span gas feeding
has finished.
If you make a mistake when setting the zero or span gas concentrations, the
measured values will be wrong.

Before setting the span gas concentration, make sure that the measured
values have leveled out safely (values are stable). This takes 5 ... 15 min-
utes (longer in unfavorable cases) depending on the span gas.

Leave the judgment as to whether the "span gas has leveled out" and the
"setting of the span gas concentration" to a trained skilled person.
