18 Commissioning and maintenance
The system requires commissioning and regular maintenance to ensure that it
operates reliably. This is all the more true for systems with an evacuation
function. Commission 'maintenance personnel' to perform maintenance work.
The following list includes some examples of causes of faults that might be
spotted during a function test being performed as part of the maintenance
work:
● Contact for triggering an evacuation, through a connected fire control panel,
has not been processed.
● System incorrectly configured/parameterized without this being noticed.
● Incorrect system status not displayed by diagnostics tool.
● Matrix switches evacuation signal to the wrong output owing to incorrect
parametrization.
● Incorrect labeling on keypad leading to the operator accidentally shutting
down.
● Manual announcement difficult to understand or no sound owing to faulty
microphone.

Maintenance work not carried out
Restricted alarms or no alarms, personal injury and damage to property in an
emergency
● Ensure that the following maintenance work is performed at the specified
interval.
● Remember that the function test falls under the scope of maintenance
The maintenance intervals may differ from the recommendations provided for
maintenance below depending on national requirements.
