Cyclic change (MODE_SLOT = 1)
A cyclic change is recommended when another parameter besides OUTPUT_VALUE is to
be cyclically changed.
Note
You can stop the cyclic change during the output sequence by setting LD_SLOT and
MODE_SLOT to 0. The values changed up to that point are retained.
Flowchart
The following figure shows an example of the basic sequence:
You write a valid value in SLOT and LD_SLOT.
1b The STS_LD_SLOT feedback bit is toggled because the LD_SLOT load request was recognized by the module and
implemented. The value from SLOT is applied once and kept until the next change of LD_SLOT. The relevant pa-
rameter is updated in the module-internal data record and takes effect at the next output sequence.
You write a changed and valid value in LD_SLOT and an invalid value in SLOT.
The ERR_SLOT_LD feedback bit is set because the value in SLOT is invalid. The value is not applied.
You set the RES_ERROR control bit in order to acknowledge the error.
The feedback bit ERR_LD is reset.
You reset the RES_ERROR control bit.
You write a changed and valid value in SLOT and LD_SLOT.
3b The STS_LD_SLOT feedback bit is toggled because the LD_SLOT load request was recognized by the module and
implemented. The value from SLOT is applied once and kept until the next change of LD_SLOT. The relevant pa-
rameter is updated in the module-internal data record and takes effect at the next output sequence.
4a You set MODE_SLOT and cyclically write valid values in SLOT and LD_SLOT. The value from SLOT is cyclically
applied and takes effect at the next output sequence. However, the respective change is not saved.
