4.2.1.4 Period duration
You set the period duration in µs in the hardware configuration. The value range is
dependent on whether or not the high-speed output function is being used:
Value range of the period duration
Activated 10 ... 85000000 μs
Deactivated 100 ... 85000000 μs
In addition, you can change the period duration via the control interface by entering a new
value in SLOT as integer (UDINT). In so doing, you use the MODE_SLOT control bit to
choose whether you want to apply a change once or cyclically:
MODE_SLOT = 0 One-time change:
As soon as you write the value 1
D
in the corresponding output byte, the
value from SLOT is applied once as the period duration and kept until the
next change.
A period duration that has been changed using SLOT takes effect at the
next positive edge at DQn.A.
MODE_SLOT = 1 Cyclic change:
When you write the value 17
D
in the corresponding output byte, the current
value from SLOT in each case is applied cyclically as the period duration.
A period duration that has been changed using SLOT takes effect at the
next positive edge at DQn.A.
You can find additional information under Handling of the SLOT parameters (Page 139).
