How to install an expansion module (PCI / PCIe format):

Run the latching retainer ②
through the guide slot
① on the
long side of the bus frame and
insert it firmly into the expansion
module. Use the guide slot closes
to the PCI edge-socket connector.
You can also use a different guide
slot if certain structural elements
should be in your way when
installing the latching retainer.
While doing this, adjust the
expansion module so that it fits into
the slot of the latching retainer.
Avoid using too much force.
Note:
The latching retainer can only
move in the direction of the
expansion module.
To remove the retainer, open the
side of the bus frame and pull it
from the inside out.

9. Cut off the part of the latching
retainer that protrudes from the
guide slot with sharp wire cutters.
Do not leave any remnants jutting
out.
The expansion module is installed in the bus frame. Not insert the bus frame back into the
device, as described in the section 4Installation and removal of the bus frame (Page 271).
