Create new device
Procedure
1. Click the "Create" button on the page of the device list.

Configure device setting
– Specify the following for the device.

Meaning
Name of the device Enter a name.
The name must meet the following conditions:
• It must be unique
• it must start with a letter.
• The following characters are permitted: a-z, A-Z,0-9 and _
• "conn" cannot be used as a name.
Type of connection
1. Permanent: The VPN connection exists permanently:
2. Digital input: The VPN connection is established as soon as a
signal is applied to the "digital input".
3. Wake-up SMS: An alarm SMS message is sent to the device.

SMS gateway provider Can only be selected with the type of connection "Wake-up SMS"
or "Digital input & Wake-up SMS".
Select the SMS gateway provider. You configure the gateway pro-
vider in "System > SMS & e-mail"
GSM number For SCALANCE M-800 with SIM card:
Call number of the end device to which the wake-up SMS is sent.
