Description:
The preassigned value specifies how many bytes, as a minimum, are free for
the user when the NCK runs up with a 'cold start'.
The contents of the data state how much buffered memory is available for the
passive file system when it runs up.
After a non-buffered run up, the maximum memory available in the file system
can be read.
If MDs that influence the requirement for buffered memory are changed, the
size of the memory available for the passive file system changes, as the mem-
ory size, which is allocated to the passive file system, comprises MD18230
$MN_MM_USER_MEM_BUFFERED minus all of the other buffered user data.

At the first NCK power up or cold restart of the control (=deletion of user
data) MD18230 $MN_MM_USER_MEM_BUFFERED is set by the NCK software so that at
least the default value results for MD18060 $MN_INFO_FREE_MEM_STATIC.
This means that MD18230 $MN_MM_USER_MEM_BUFFERED is automatically increased
if its initial value is too low.
(The size of the passive file system is dimensioned using the MD18350
$MN_MM_USER_FILE_MEM_MINIMUM[0].)
Machine data for setting the active file system (tools, GUDs, ...) can be
increased until this memory has all been allocated.
Description: The NC cannot manage more tools than the number entered in the MD. A tool has
at least one cutting edge.
Buffered user memory is used.
The maximum possible number of tools is equal to the number of cutting edges.
The MD must also be set when TOOLMAN is not used.
The buffered data are lost when the machine data is changed.
