3.6.3 Setting parameters
Set the parameters as shown in the table to ensure that the con-
troller recognises the system, on both the MASTER (parameter
140=1) and the SLAVES (parameter 140=2,3).
MASTER:

3.6.4 Checking for correct recognition
To check that the controller has correctly recognised the type of
system on the basis of the parameters entered, display the installer
parameter in row 53.
For the MASTER, system n. 9 should appear; for SLAVES 1 and 2,
system n. 9.
3.6.5 Minimum return thermostat
The thermostat on the return is not supplied with the probe kit. It ser-
ves to prevent water from being drawn when the temperature in the
circuit upstream of the hydraulic separator is low. It should be set to
35°C.
NOTA: Once parameters have been set, the RVA 43.222 SLAVE
leds will all be off. During regular operation, the MASTER led
will be off, and will flash when not required by the room thermo-
stat. This is NOT a fault signal.
3.7 SYSTEM I7 - 2/3 BOILER CASCADE WITH EXTERNAL
HOT WATER TANK AND 3 ZONES CONTROLLED BY
A MIXER VALVE, PUMP AND FLOOR SYSTEM
The features of this type of system may be summed up as follows:
– Operation of 2/3 boilers in cascade
– Step power modulation of the entire cascade with automatic inclu-
sion and exclusion of individual units
– Automatic adaptation to demand for heat
– Maintaining minimum boiler temperature
– Automatic rotation of boiler sequences
– Automatic summer/winter switchover
– Zone control with mixer valve, pump, zone probe (QAD21 or
QAZ21) and room temperature controller (QAA70) through series

– Control of floor system with mixer valve, pump, zone probe,

(QAC31 outdoor probe, QAD21 cascade delivery/return probes, 3
QAA70 room temperature control units, 3 RVA46.531 units and the
QAD21/QAZ21 zone probes must be purchased separately):
In this case the MASTER (par. 140 = 1) is connected to the cascade
delivery probe and SLAVE 1 (par. 140 = 2) is connected to the casca-
de return probe.
