cIftheunitisinstalledinsidearackorinaclosedcompartment,makesurethat
ampleventilationisprovidedtoavoidoverheating.
dMakesurethatamplespaceisprovidedaroundtheunittoallowfor
maintenanceandreplacementofparts.
eMakesurethatthebolts,screwsorstudsholdingtheunitareofthecorrectsize.
fMakesurethatthecorrectatandshake-proofwashershavebeenused.
gMakesurethatallnutshavebeentightenedproperly.
hMakesurethatallweldsandbracketshavebeenpaintedwiththecorrect
preservationmediumtopreventcorrosion.
3Makesurethatthedisplayisinstalledinthecorrectlocation,andthatitissuitably
orientatedwithrespecttoambientlightconditionsandreections.
4Makesurethattheunitisnotphysicallydamaged,andthatthepaint-workisclean
withoutdentsorscratches.
Thephysicalhandlingoftheunitduringtheinstallationmayhavecausedsome
minorscratchestothepaint-work.Thiscanbeaccepted.However,ifrough
handlinghascausedseriousdamagetotheunit,thismustberecordedwithawritten
statementandnecessaryphotos,sothatcorrectiveactionscanbemade.
5Makesurethattheunitisrmlyconnectedtoship'sground.
aTheunitmustbeconnectedtotheship'sgroundwithanearthingstrap.The
strapmustbeinadditiontoanyincidentalelectricalcontactmadebythe
mountinglugsontheunit.
bUseastandardmultimetertocheckthattheresistancebetweentheunitandthe
ship'sgroundisapproximately0(zero)Ω.
6Makesurethatcableinstallationhasbeencompleted.
aMakesurethatallcablesleadingtoandfromtheunithavebeenproperly
mountedandsecured.
bMakesurethatenoughslackhasbeenprovidedoneachcabletoallowfor
maintenanceandreplacement.
7Makesurethattheunithasbeenidentiedwiththerelevantproductlabel(s),and
thatonelabelincludesthepartandserialnumbers.
