Inordertooperatecorrectly,theSU90requiresinputfromacoursegyro.Thecurrent
headingisshownonthetopbarifyouhaveenabledthisintheDisplayOptionsdialog
box.Thecommunicationwiththesensoristested.
Prerequisites
Thisprocedureassumesthat:
•ThesensorisconnectedtotheSU90.Itisswitchedonandinnormaloperation.
•Theinterfaceportissetupwiththecorrectcommunicationparameters.
•YouarefamiliarwithNMEAandotherrelevantdatagramformats.
•Youknowhowtosetuptheparametersforserialandlocalareanetwork(LAN)
communication.
•Thevesselisberthedoratsea.
•Allrelevantvesseldrawings,installationreportsand/ormeasurementresultsare
available.
•TheSU90systemisturnedonandoperatesnormally.
Neithertoolsnorinstrumentsarerequired.

Note
TheinputfromacoursegyroisessentialforSU90operation.Withouttheinputfroma
coursegyro,theSU90willnotbeabletopresentcorrectnavigationalinformation.This
lackofcompensationwillpreventtheSU90fromprovidingcorrectechoinformation.
Inmostcasesasuitablecoursegyroisalreadyinstalledonthevessel.Aglobal
positioningsystem(GPS)withacompatibleoutputformatcanalsobeused.
ThepropertiesofeachoftheavailablecommunicationportsaredenedontheI/OSetup
page.TheSensorInstallationpageallowsyourSU90tocommunicatewithexternal
sensorsandsystems.Tomakesurethattheinformationfromthe"mostreliable"sensors
areusedbytheSU90,usetheSensorCongurationpagetodeneadatagrampriorities.
