AvisualinspectionoftheOperatingPanelisrequiredtoverifythattheunithasnotbeen
physicallydamagedduringtheinstallation..
Prerequisites
TheSU90hasbeensetupwithitshardwareunitsconnectedasspeciedintheSU90
Installationmanual.TheSU90isturnedoff.Youneedthefollowingequipment:
•Multimeter
Procedure
1Makesurethattheunit’sserialnumberhasbeenrecordedinthelistofhardware
items.
2Makesurethatthephysicalinstallationoftheunithasbeencompleted.
aIftheunitisinstalledinsidearackorinaclosedcompartment,makesurethat
ampleventilationisprovidedtoavoidoverheating.
bMakesurethatamplespaceisprovidedaroundtheunittoallowfor
maintenanceandreplacementofparts.
cMakesurethatthebolts,screwsorstudsholdingtheunitareofthecorrectsize.
dMakesurethatthecorrectatandshake-proofwashershavebeenused.
eMakesurethatallnutshavebeentightenedproperly.
3MakesurethattheOperatingPanelisinstalledinthecorrectlocation,andthatitis
suitablyorientedforeasymaintenanceandreplacementofparts.
4Makesurethattheunitisnotphysicallydamaged,andthatthepaint-workisclean
withoutdentsorscratches.
Thephysicalhandlingoftheunitduringtheinstallationmayhavecausedsome
minorscratchestothepaint-work.Thiscanbeaccepted.However,ifrough
handlinghascausedseriousdamagetotheunit,thismustberecordedwithawritten
statementandnecessaryphotos,sothatcorrectiveactionscanbemade.
5Makesurethattheunitisrmlyconnectedtoship'sground.
aMakesurethattheunitissecurelyconnectedtotheship'sgroundwithan
earthingstrap.Thestrapmustbeinadditiontoanyincidentalelectricalcontact
madebythemountinglugsontheunit.
bUseastandardmultimetertocheckthattheresistancebetweentheunitandthe
ship'sgroundisapproximately0(zero)Ω.
6Makesurethatcableinstallationhasbeencompleted.
aMakesurethatallcablesleadingtoandfromtheunithavebeenproperly
mountedandsecured.
bMakesurethatenoughslackhasbeenprovidedoneachcabletoallowfor
maintenanceandreplacement.
