ThehullunitprovidedwiththeSU90isdesignedtolowerthetransducerdownbelow
theship’shullwhentheSU90shallbeused.ThisisakeyfunctionalityoftheSU90.
Itisveryimportantthatthehoist/lowerfunctionistestedbeforetheSU90isputto
operationaluse.Inordertotestthelowerandhoistfunctionalityofthehullunit,two
tasksmustbedonesimultaneously.Thesetasksaredoneonthebridge.
Prerequisites
TheSU90isinstalledasspeciedintheSU90Installationmanual.TheSU90systemis
turnedonandoperatesnormally.Neithertoolsnorinstrumentsarerequired.
Context
Certainstepsinthetwoproceduresarelocationspecic.Thestepsmarked[Sonar
room]aredoneinthesonarroom.
Procedure
1Makesurethatyouhavesufcientwaterdepthbelowthekeelbeforeyoulower
thetransducer.
2[Sonarroom]LocatetheMotorProtectingSwitch(S301).Settheswitchtoposition
ON.
3[Sonarroom]LocatetheHoist/LowerSwitch(S302).Settheswitchtoposition
REMOTE.
4Lowerthetransducertoitsmiddleposition.
aOntheOperatingPanel,pressMiddle.
Whilethetransducerismovingtheindicatorlampashes,andanaudible
signalissounded.Whentherequestedpositionhasbeenreached,theindicator
lampislit,andtheaudiblesignalstops.
