SITA Messtechnik GmbH Operating Instructions SITA ConSpector
23
You have the option of setting the base value manually in the "Base value" menu. Only use this
option if you know the base value of the process bath, e.g. from a previously performed base value
measurement, or if you have determined it in the operating mode "FluoLevel" (see section 6.1.
Incorrect setting of the base value leads to incorrect measured values and can result in critical
contamination of the process bath not being detected.
The SITA ConSpector can also output negative contamination levels. This case occurs when the
currently determined measured values are smaller than the base value. In other words, if the meas-
ured sample fluoresces less than the sample used for the baseline measurement.
6.3 User-defined output – e. g. Concentration
The SITA ConSpector offers the possibility to store user-de-
fined concentration characteristics. For example, character-
istic curves for the correlation of an anti-corrosion oil quan-
tity in a solvent to the fluorescence intensity in RFU can be
stored. In the operating mode "user defined", the SITA Con-
Spector internally measures the fluorescence intensity in RFU
and converts the measurement result on the basis of a user-
defined characteristic curve, e.g. into a vol.-% or g/l specifi-
cation. The correlation between fluorescence intensity and oil quantity depends on the substance.
The characteristic curves are therefore only valid for a specific substance/product (e.g. corrosion
protection oil X from company Y). Characteristic curves can be created via the SITA-ProcessLog
software and stored in the device.
