Appendix A - Installation and Test Operator Information
Installation
1. Unpacking and Inspection
Your tester was shipped in a custom foam insulated container that complies with ASTM D4169-92a Assurance
Level II Distribution Cycle 13 Performance Test Sequence.
If the shipping carton is damaged, inspect the contents for visible damage such as dents, scratches, or broken
meters. If the tester is damaged, notify the carrier and the Slaughter Company customer support department
immediately. Please save the shipping carton and packing material for the carrier’s inspection. Our customer
support department will assist you in the repair or replacement of your tester. Please do not return your
product without first notifying us and receiving an RMA (return materials authorization) number.
2. Safe Lifting and Carrying Instructions
Proper methods of lifting and carrying can help to protect against injury. Follow the recommendations below
to ensure that testers are handled in a safe manner.
Determine if the tester can be lifted by one individual or requires additional support.
Make sure that your balance is centered and your feet are properly spaced, shoulder width apart
behind the tester.
Bend at the knees and make sure your back is straight.
Grip the tester with your fingers and palms and do not lift unless your back is straight.
Lift up with your legs, not your back.
Keep the tester close to your body while carrying.
Lower the tester by bending your knees. Keep you back straight.
