11.6 Adding direct communicating loads
The SunnyHomeManager can include loads that support either the EEBus data exchange protocol or the SEMP data
exchange protocol in the energy management system.
Only selected loads support the connection to the SunnyHomeManager via EEBus and SEMP (see technical
information "SMA SMART HOME - Compatibility List for the SunnyHomeManager 2.0").
11.6.1 Adding a Device with EEBus or SEMP Interface
Requirements:
The new device must be in operation.
For the SunnyHomeManager this must be set: Data request interval Automatic (see Section11.3.9,
page59).
Procedure:
1. Under Configuration > Device overview select the tab Overview of new devices.
2. Select device after preselection via the device filter or in the list and activate via .
The configuration wizard opens and provides the further procedure step by step.
3. Enter the device name. You can also select and edit one of the suggestions displayed.
4. Click on [Next].
5. If the new device is basically able to take optional energy, a window will open where you have to set the priority
of the load (see Section12.1.4, page73) and define the rules for switching on when optional energy is actually
requested (see Section12.1.3.2, page72).
6. Click on [Next].
A summary of your entries is displayed.
7. If the data are correct, select [Finish].
A window appears with the message that the new device has been successfully added as a system
extension.
8. Hide the window by clicking [Close].
You will automatically be taken to the New Devices Overview tab.
11.6.2 Pairing Loads via EEBus
While SEMP devices such as the SMA EV Charger are automatically connected and displayed, EEBus devices must be
actively paired.
This setting is only possible under Complex configuration.
The following steps are required for pairing the devices:
Activating EEBUS
Activate EEBus protocol on Sunny Home Manager.
Activate EEBus in the loads (see manufacturer's manual).
Pairing EEBus devices
This pairing must be performed separately for each individual load.
Pair the Sunny Home Manager to the load via EEBus.
Pair the load with the SunnyHomeManager via EEBUS (see manufacturer's manual).
Requirements:
The Sunny Home Manager and the loads must be operational and connected to each other via a router in the
same local network.
