14 Replacing the Product with a Replacement Device
Under fault conditions, the product may need to be replaced. If this is the case, you will receive a
replacement device from SMA Solar Technology AG. If you received a replacement device,
replace the defective product with the replacement device as described below.
Procedure:
1. Decommission the defective product (see Section13, page96).
2. Mount the replacement device (see Section6, page25) and make the electrical connections
(see Section8, page34).
3. Commission the replacement device (see Section9, page52).
4. Establish a connection to the user interface of the inverter (see Section10.1, page55).
5. Configure the country data set (see Section10.9, page62).
6. If the defective product had been registered in a System Manager, replace it with the new
product in the System Manager (see manual for System Manager).
7. Pack the defective product in the packaging of the replacement device and arrange with SMA
Solar Technology AG for it to be picked up.
