What to do if Sofar solar 3.3-12KTL-X Inverter shows GFCI Fault?
    • R
      Robert NortonAug 2, 2025
If the GFCI fault occurs occasionally on your Sofar solar inverter, it might be due to temporary external circuit abnormalities, and the inverter should automatically return to normal once the issue is resolved. However, if the fault happens frequently and persists, inspect the insulation resistance between the PV array and the ground. Also, check the insulation of your PV cables.

Why is the power grid voltage too high on my Sofar solar Inverter?
    • S
      Shelly BrewerAug 6, 2025
If the alarm occurs occasionally, it could be due to occasional abnormalities in the electrical grid. The Sofar solar inverter should automatically return to normal when the grid stabilizes. However, if the alarm happens frequently, verify that the grid voltage and frequency are within the acceptable range. If they are not, contact Sofar technical support. If the voltage and frequency are within range, inspect the AC circuit breaker and AC wiring of the inverter. If the problem persists even with correct voltage, frequency, and wiring, contact Sofar support to adjust the over-voltage and over-frequency protection points after getting approval from your local electrical grid operator.

Why is my Sofar solar Inverter derating because of high temperature?
    • D
      David JimenezAug 10, 2025
Ensure that the installation location and method comply with the requirements. Verify that the ambient temperature around the installation site does not exceed the upper limit. If it does, improve ventilation to lower the temperature. Also, check for ID90-ID92 faults, which indicate a fan problem. If a fan fault exists, replace the affected fan.

What to do if the input voltage is too high on Sofar solar Inverter?
    • C
      Christopher ValenciaAug 14, 2025
The input voltage may be too high because too many PV modules are connected in series in a PV string, causing the voltage (Voc) of the PV string to exceed the maximum input voltage of the Sofar solar inverter. If this is the case, adjust the number of PV modules connected in series to decrease the voltage of the PV string to fit within the input voltage range of the inverter. The inverter should automatically return to normal operation after these adjustments.

What to do if the input voltage is too low on Sofar solar 3.3-12KTL-X?
    • J
      jodygoodAug 19, 2025
The input voltage may be too low if too few PV modules are connected in series in a PV string, resulting in the voltage (Vmp) of the PV string being lower than the minimum operating voltage of the Sofar solar inverter. If this is the case, adjust the number of series-connected PV modules to increase the voltage of the PV string to fit the input voltage range of the inverter. The inverter should automatically return to normal operation after these adjustments.

What to do if the fan4 is fault on Sofar solar 3.3-12KTL-X?
    • T
      Tiffany CherryAug 23, 2025
Inspect the external fan with blue heat-shrink tubing to see if it's not working. If it is not working, replace the fan. If the alarm persists after replacement, contact Sofar technical support.

    Ann DiazAug 28, 2025
What causes low insulation resistance on Sofar solar Inverter?
    • T
      Timothy WashingtonAug 28, 2025
Check the insulation resistance between the PV array and earth (ground). If a short circuit is found, fix the fault.
