How to fix Sony SLV-T2000 VCR when playback picture does not appear on TV screen?
    • B
      Brianna WilsonAug 12, 2025
If the playback picture does not appear on the TV screen of your Sony VCR, first ensure your TV is set to the correct video channel or video input if you are using a monitor. If connected via aerial cable, verify the RF MODULATOR option in the SET UP MENU is set to ON. For VHS decks, adjust the tracking using the `$ / 4 TRACKING buttons.` If the issue persists, the video heads may be dirty and require cleaning with a Sony video head cleaning cassette or professional cleaning at a Sony service facility. Do not use wet-type cleaning cassettes. In some cases, the video heads may need replacement, so consult your local Sony service facility.

Ensure the clock is set and a tape has been inserted. Also, verify that the safety tab of the VHS has not been removed, or that the safety switch of the 8 mm tape has not been slid to show the red portion. Check that a programme has not been set for timer recording, and that your timer settings have not already passed the current time. Check that the decoder and satellite tuner are turned on. If the VCR was disconnected from the mains for more than one hour, reset the clock and timer. Finally, ensure you are using the deck which you have selected TIMER REC option in the SET UP MENU.
