CHANNEL EDIT > DYNAMICS
5.4: DYNAMICS
ATTACK
Adjust the compressor Attack
This is the speed at which the compressor reacts and reaches the attenuation set by the RATIO parameter.
RELEASE
Adjust the compressor Release
This is the speed at which the compressor returns to ‘no attenuation’ after the signal level has fallen below the
threshold level.
GRM - METERING
Gain reduction metering
There are three meters: Input signal, output signal, and a meter showing the amount of attenuation currently
being applied due to the dynamics processing.
GAIN
Adjust the compressor Make-up Gain
Compression results in an overall reduction in signal level, so a GAIN control is provided to ‘make-up’ the lost gain.
Heavy compression plus make-up gain can often result in an increase in perceived overall loudness.
RESET
Reset the Dynamics for this channel to default values
BYPASS
Bypass the Dynamics for this channel
