20. APPENDIX 1 - REMOTE CONTROL
Overview:
With reference to that described in Section 15. “USE OF THE USB / RS 232 PORTS”, this
appendix contains the following sections:
SW installation
Term_1.5K_USB.exe usage
Term_1.5K_232.exe usage
Firmware update
The host PC must have the minimum of a correctly installed Windows XP operating
system, or a newer release of Microsoft’s operating system, with a typical minimum of
RAM and hard disk space.
20.1 SW (Software) installation.
The installation package is contained in a compressed .ZIP archive named
“Term_1.5K_Package_1_0.zip” which requires to be expanded into a work folder and
then processed as described. This package is included in the accessory CD or can be
downloaded from our website at www.linear-amplifier.com .
Once the compressed archive Term_1.5K_Package_1_0.zip has been stored into a work
folder, it must necessarily be expanded; that is all. the files therein contained must be
extracted and properly placed into the host system.
In this example the compressed archive Term_1.5K_Package_1_0.zip has been placed
into a folder named tmp which is, in turn, located on the local disk unit C: as shown in the
picture below:
Next step is the archive expansion. This can be obtained by selecting the filename and
then right-clicking over it. A local menu will appear, with Extract All… this process will
automatically sort unzip and sort the files:
