MODE SWITCH
WINTER (W) / POWER (P) / NORMAL MODE
W : Winter Mode
In this mode, the vehicle starts from 2nd gear.
Press the “W” portion of the mode switch to select “WIN-
TER” driving mode and “WINTER” indicator lamp will be dis-
played on the instrument cluster.
Use this mode in the event of starting-off or driving difficul-
ties on slippery roads.
Normal
Use this mode for your normal driving.
This driving mode can be selected when both “W” and “P”
portions are not pressed.
When driving on a slippery road,
push the
“W” section on the
switch. This activates the winter
mode and you will be able to
drive off more gently. When an
extra driving power is needed for
a certain situation such as driv-
ing up a steep hill or passing by
other vehicles, push the
“P”
section of the switch to activate
the power mode. For normal
driving, select the normal mode.
P : Power Mode
• When the P section of the mode switch is pressed, the
power mode will be activated and the power mode indi-
cator (POWER) will come on the instrument cluster.
• For increased power, improved acceleration or driving up
long slopes, press the “P” portion of the mode switch.
The transmission will shift into the power driving pattern.
The transmission will shift at higher engine revolutions,
allowing more powerful acceleration.
• When the
W section of the mode switch is pressed, the
power mode and its function will be deactivated.
After driving at the winter mode, select the normal mode when
your vehicle reaches a certain speed.
