Workshop Manual
General information
The carburettor has a oat with a xed jet and a “AUTO-CHOKE” control.
See the relevant section [
17] for advice on resolving problems due to carburation.
The carburettor is located on the left hand side of the engine. For maintenance operations, it is necessary
to remove the air intake lter in the sequence shown below.
Some of the following operations can be facilitated by removing the engine from the machine.
9. CARBURATION
WARNING! All operations on the tank and
supply system must be carried out in safe
conditions, so:
- do not smoke;
- always empty the tank if petrol is not strictly
necessary for the operation to be carried out;
- work in a ventilated environment away from
nakedamesorunprotectedsourcesofheat;
- collect petrol in a suitable container with a cap
using a funnel and avoid spilling it on the work
bench;
- remove all traces of spilt petrol immediately;
- check you have connected the pipes before
pouring petrol back into the tank.
9.1. Removing and cleaning the carburettor
1 - Remove the lter unit [
8.1].
2 - Unscrew the two nuts (1) holding the lter carrier
(2).
3 - Remove the lter holder (2).
4 - Remove the hose clamp (3) and the petrol pipe
(4). Drain the contents of the pipe into an appro-
priate container.
5 - Check the condition of the gasket (5).
