17. TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
he engine starts but does
not run
The tank cap has a clogged breather
pipe
Clean and/or replace the cap [

Insufcient pressure
Check correct valve operation [
16.4]. Check that the spark plug is
secured [ 12.1]. Check for any
cracks in the casing. Check wear and
tear of the piston rings [ 16.3]
Exhaust is blocked
Check that there is airow through
the exhaust system and replace if
necessary [

The governor malfunctions or there is
a problem with the rods
Check the entire governor system

Replace the carburettor gaskets

Check and clean the carburettor
