Operation 5
Handling trailers
Coupling trailers
CAUTION
When coupling and uncoupling trailers, the tractor
and trailer must always be on level ground. Make
sure that all controls are in the neutral position and
the parking brake is applied.
Before coupling a trailer, check if the draw
bar of the trailer and the tow coupling of the
tractor match. Make sure that the brakes of the
trailer - if present - are applied or the wheels
securely blocked to prevent any unintentional
movement. Reverse the tractor to the trailer
so that the tow pin and the trailer draw bar are
aligned as seen from the driver’s position.
