Removing Support Material with Sodium Hydroxide
To remove thin layers of support material and to give the model a smooth, clean finish:
1. Put on protective gloves.
2. Soak the model in a 2-percent aqueous solution of caustic soda (NaOH).
(typically between half-an-hour and several hours, depending on how delicate it is and how much support
material needs to be removed).
3. Rinse the model again thoroughly using the WaterJet.
