Slide bin collar over tube protruding from bin. Position bin collar so clutch pull rod hole and lock assembly
are on lower right side as shown in Fig. 11. Collar clamp tabs will be horizontal as shown. Mark clutch
rod hole and drill through bin wall. Using metal screws, fasten bin collar to bin wall. Caulk around collar.
Do not tighten bin collar clamps at this time. If unload system has an independent intermediate sump,
remove knockout for pull rod.
INDEPENDENT INTERMEDIATE SUMP PULL ROD INSTALLATION
Sweepways with 8” or 10” diameter unload tubes manufactured on or after June 1, 2018, are equipped
with an independent intermediate sump. Follow these steps to attach pull rod:
1. Remove four (4) shaft collars from pull rod.
2. Attach a pull rod support clamp about 15” from independent intermediate sump. Be sure to leave
at least 11” clearance for sump gate opening.
3. In bins more than 31’ diameter, attach a second pull rod support clamp about halfway between
first clamp and bin wall.
4. Slide pull rod through support clamps and into gate bracket as shown in Fig. 12, simultaneously
attaching shaft collars to rod as shown.
5. With gate fully closed, push sump rod against sump.
6. Adjust shaft collars so they are tight against gate bracket. Tighten shaft collars.
7. On outside of bin, attach E5404 handle to pull rod using setscrew.
8. Ensure sump gate opens and closes completely.
