Installing an M.2 Solid State Drive
Note: M.2 for should be used for operating systems only. It is not designed for read/write
intensive applications. Also, there are some thermal limitations. Please contact Supermicro
Support before installing an M.2 device.
The motherboard can accommodate an M.2 solid state drive (SSD). The M.2 socket supports
PCIe 3.0 x4 (32 Gb/s) SSD cards in the 2280 or 22110 form factors. The 22110 form factor is
accompanying risks.
Caution: Use industry-standard anti-static equipment, such as gloves or wrist strap, and
follow precautions to avoid damage caused by ESD.
