5.3 Mechanical SYLVAC-Scan 50 and 50 Plus
Tailstock
If the tailstock becomes too loose to remain in position, the clamping mechanism must be adjusted.
Remove the tailstock from the machine by raising it to the top of the slide and lifting it forwards, out of
the tenon slot.
Turn it to expose the rear face.
The adjustment is of the M6 grubscrew in the tenon tongue (shown as “A” in the photograph below),
using a 3 mm Allen key.
Rotate it clockwise to tighten or counterclockwise to loosen the tailstock fit.
To refit, pull the clamping block to the maximum clearance from the body while squeezing the release
lever.
Carefully re-engage it in the tenon slot at the top of the slide where the clearance hole is provided.
