1.3 System Description
The gauging system will measure lengths, diameters, angles, radii and other features on round, (i.e.
cylindrically symmetric) components.
A stepper motor allows automatic component rotation for dynamic measurements (run-out, for
example). SYLVAC-Scan 50 Plus offers in addition a motorized axis used to incline the workpiece to
the helix angle of the thread (Slew).
Measurements can be made directly by positioning the feature(s) to be measured at the measuring
point in the fixture. Alternatively, for production components, a programmed measurement sequence
can be created.
