the second time marker with the second vertical
graticule line.
e. CHECK—Timing accuracy is within 3% (0.24
division at the tenth vertical graticule tine), and
linearity is within 5% (0.10 division over any two of
the center eight divisions).
NOTE
When checking the timing accuracy for SEC/
DIV switch settings from 50 ms to 0.5 s,
watch the time marker tips only at the second
and tenth vertical graticule lines while
adjusting the Horizontal POSITION control.
f. Repeat parts c through e for the remaining
SEC/DIV and time-mark-generator setting combi
nations shown in Table 5-4 under the “XI Normal"
column.
g. Set:

h. Select 20-ns time markers from the time-
mark generator.
i. Use the Horizontal POSITION controls to align
the first time marker that is 50 ns beyond the start of
the sweep with the second vertical graticule line.
j. CHECK—Timing accuracy is within 4% (0.32
division at the tenth vertical graticule line), and
linearity is within 7% (0.14 division over any 2 of the
center 8 divisions). Exclude any portion of the
sweep past the 50th magnified division.
k. Repeat parts i and j for the remaining SEC/DIV
and time-mark generator setting combination shown
in Table 5-4 under the “X10 Magnified” column.
l. Disconnect the test equipment from the
instrument.
