Configuring Physical Layer Settings (Option 3G or JIT)
Before you use SDI Status displays to monitor the SDI physical layer, you will need to configure the physical layer settings.
These are initially set to factory defaults. For more detailed i nformation about physical layer monitoring and measurement,
see the Technical Reference on your Customer Documentation CD.
NOTE. Instruments with Option JIT only measure 3 Gb/s signals and not dual link or HD.
1. Press the CONFIG button to display the
configuration menu.
2. Use the selection ( arrow ) keys, the SE L
button, and the General knob to make
the menu selections in the steps that
follow.
3. Select Physical Layer Settings.
4. Select Jitter1 HP Filter.
5. Select a high-pass filter value for the
Jitter1 engine controlling the top two tiles
of the instrument display.
6. Select Jitter2 HP Filter.
7. Select a high-pass filter value for the
Jitter2 engine controlling the top two tiles
of the instrument display.
NOTE. The Timing filter selection sets the
filtervalueto10Hz.TheAlignfilter selec tion
sets the filtervalueto1kHzforSDor
100 kHz for HD.
