High-Pass Filter
The high-pass
lter bandwidth setting allows you to show only jitter terms above
the selected lter frequency. When you select a lter setting, depending on the
active input signal, you select the jitter measurement type (Timing, Alignment, or
neither, as dened by the SMPTE standard).
To choose the Jitter high-pass lter, use the Measurement pop-up menu and
choose one of the following settings for the Jitter HP Filter entry:
Setting
Description
Timing
Sets the detector high-pass lter to 10 Hz. T his is the correct value for
measuring timing jitter for both SD and HD signals.
Align
Sets the detector high-pass lter to 1 kHz, as specied by SMTPE, for SD
signals; and to 100 kHz for HD signals. These are the correct values for
measuring alignment jitter.
10 Hz, 100 Hz,
1kHz,10kHz,
100 kHz
Sets the detector high-pass lter to the selected value.
NOTE. F
or instructions on how to take jitter measurements, see Monitoring the
SDI Physical Layer. (See page 101.)
