OPERATION GUIDELINES
Preventing these three movements keeps the boom from going into a more unstable position toward the
elbow side. It is accomplished with valves at various locations that work together to prevent the unit from
getting into unstable conditions. This system limits the boom extension in conjunction with the position and
angle of the boom.
If you move a boom to go overcenter the system will move the opposite boom to prevent going to the elbow
side with the platform. Example if you raise the upper boom and it gets near the centerline of rotation the
lower boom will begin to raise and the platform will raise. Likewise if you lower the lower boom and the
platform gets close to the centerline of rotation the upper boom will go down along the centerline. Do not use
this feature in normal operation. It is intended only to prevent going to an over-center position.
If the lower boom is extended with the Lower Boom below 55 degrees (TM105) or 70 degrees (TM125) the
extension will stop and Upper Boom up, and Lower Boom down will not function.
To correct the operation if the boom position gets into a limit situation reverse the function and then operate
normally. It may take a few seconds for the hydraulic system to reset after an out of limit condition.
USE OF CATEGORY A UNITS
Category A units must have the metal components at the boom tip bonded. When using Category A units for
rubber glove and hot stick work remove the bonding cable from the control areas.
Category A units require bonding all metal at the boom tip. Remove if using for
Category B or C work. Reconnect when using as Category A, bare hand, unit.
