6.6.7. Measurement with the funnel
Function available from firmware version 1.11 onwards.
A flow rate funnel is required to determine the flow rate on
ventilation systems. The measurement can be carried out with a
100 mm vane probe in conjunction with the testovent 417 funnel set
(order no. 0563 4170). Alternatively, a thermal anemometer (order
no. 0635 1543) can also be used in conjunction with the testovent
410 (order no. 0554 0410) or testovent 415 (order no. 0554 0415)
funnel.
The funnels differ in size and are suitable for outlets up to 200x200
mm and 330x330 mm respectively. When selecting the relevant
funnel, make sure that the opening of the funnel covers the grille
completely and tightly.
Preparing for measurement
1. Secure the anemometer probe in the funnel handle.
2. Connect the anemometer probe to the instrument.
3. Switch the instrument on.
4. Configure the probes tab so that the required measurement
parameters appear on the Favourites tab, see Favourites tab,
page 25.
5. Create a new measuring point in Explorer ([ ]) under the
required measuring location: [ ] New measuring point
6. Set the following parameters:
Parameters Values
Name
Name under which the measuring
point is saved in Explorer.
Temperature, relative humidity
and absolute pressure
Input optional, parameter is not
taken into account for this
calculation.
Flow rate correction factor The set value has a directly
proportional effect on the result
and is typically set at 1.00.
Pitot tube factor If funnel channel geometry is
selected, this field has no
influence on the measurement
result. This input is only enabled
for Pitot tube measurements, see
Pitot tube measurement, page 38.
