Drain work
Caution Make sure that the condensed water runs well out of the outdoor unit
at low ambient temperatures. If drain work is not effective for releas-
ing condensed water in cold conditions, it can cause the unit to get
damaged from ice building up.
Caution If drain work is not adequate, it can lead to system performance degra-
dation and system damages.
4.2 Preparing for the indoor unit
Caution The indoor unit must be located on a stable base. The floor must be
able to support the gross weight of the indoor unit with filled hot wa-
ter tank. (Athena Total EQ, Athena Total 300L & Athena Compact)
The appliance shall be stored and installed so as to prevent mechanical damage from occurring.
The heat pump should be placed on a stable floor with a floor well (so any condensation may drain from the condensation hole in the
bottom of the heat pump), preferably a concrete floor. When placed on a wooden floor, the floor should be reinforced to hold the
weight of the heat pump, including a filled water heater. Consider that condensation water may drip from the drain hole, so take the
necessary steps to protect the floor.
