password;however,youcannotchangetheparametersthatareprotectedbythesupervisorpassword.
3.OntheBIOSSetupUtility(ThinkPadSetupforThinkPadX120e)screen,pressF9,Enter,F10,and
thenpressEnter.
Note:Whenyouinitializethecomputerconguration,somedevicesaredisabled,suchastheserial
port.Ifyoutestoneofthesedevices,youwillneedtoenableitbyusingCongurationutilityforDOS.

features.

Torunthetest,doasfollows:
1.Turnoffthecomputer.
2.AttachanexternalopticaldrivethroughtheUSBconnectortothecomputer.
3.Settheexternalopticaldriveasastartupdevice.
4.Turnoffthecomputer.
5.Turnonthecomputer.Ifthecomputercannotbepoweredon,goto“Powersystemcheckout”on
page28,andcheckthepowersources.
Ifanerrorcodeappears,goto“Symptom-to-FRUindex”onpage37.
6.WhentheThinkPadlogocomesup,immediatelypressF12toentertheBootMenu.
7.InsertthePC-DoctorCDintotheexternalopticaldrive.
8.PresscursorkeystoselectATAPICDx(x:0,1,...)andthenpressEnter.
9.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
10.ThemainpanelofPC-Doctorappears.
11.SelectDiagnosticswiththearrowkeys,andpressEnter.
