testsatthecontrolboard(seeschemacforappropriate
pins.)
Ifthesensordoesnotreadappropriatelyyoushould
removethesensorassembly(whichrequiresremovalof
thepneumacactuator).Asanalcheckyoucanohmout
thesensorswhentheyareoofthemachine.Thesensor
assemblyisPN32138.
Sensor is Out of Adjustment
Ifthetraysensorsworkwhenyouwaveamagnetover
them,butdon’treadthetrayposionaccurately,they
areoutofadjustment.Themagnecpistonmustcome
withinabout0.100”ofthesensortoacvatethesensor.
Sprinklingironlingsontheoutsideofthecylinderisa
goodwaytoverifytheposionofthemagnecpiston.
Youshouldverifythatthesensorisposionedsuchthat
themagnecpistonisdirectlyoverthesensorwhenin
thetrayoutortrayinposions.Also,checkthattheair
cushionadjustment(smallbrasssetscrew)hasn’tbeen
over-adjustedtoahardstop,whichwillpreventthepiston
fromtravelingallthewaytoeitherposion.
TRAY REFERENCE
TheTRAYREFERENCEsensorisanormallyopenreed
switchhousedinablackplascenclosureontheunderside
ofthecarouselumbrella.Itisusedtoprovideacarousel
homereferenceposion.Itreadsasmallneodymium
magnetembeddedinthehub.
Thersttoolchangeaerthecontrolsowareisstarted,
oranymeaerthemillise-stoppedandthenre-
powered,thetraywillreferenceitself.Itspinsquicklyin
onedireconunlisthesensorreadsthemagnet,moves
pastthemagnet,thenitreversesdireconandmoves
slowlyunlitreadsthemagnetagain.Ifthesensorisnot
workingproperlythetraywillspinfor10secondsorso,
thenmeoutandgiveanerrormessage.
Thesensorshouldbeposionedasshownintheabove
photo–asmallgapshouldbepresentbetweenthe
magnetembeddedinthehubandthesensoritself.
