angenutwasscrewedonto
3. Behindthestudisasmall(M4?)socketheadcap
screw.Removethis
4. Loosenthetwosetscrewsandremovethehubfrom
thesha.

controllerinthecontrolsowareandcomparingthe
Mach3versiontothecurrentversionlistedonour
website.Thelatestversionofthemill’scontrolsoware

documents.html.Addionally,youwillneedtoinstall
theATCspecicsowarefromtheCDthatwasincluded
withtheATC.Thissowareinstallsdriversspecicto
theoperaonoftheATC,andmustbeinstalledpriorto
runningtheATC.
ATC Recovery
Asyoulearntousethetoolchangeryoumayexperience
atoolcrash.Thankfully,itisverydiculttodamagethe
TormachATC.Thesowareisintelligentandcanpredict
potenalcrashes,warningtheoperatorwithapop-up
windowbeforeexecungthecommandedchange.Ifyou
areunfortunateenoughtoexperienceacrash:
1. Usethe“DrawbarDown”buonontheATCSetup
screenorthe“Release”and“Lock”buonsonthe
pendanttoreleasethetool.
2. UsetheReferenceZbuontomovetheZaxisclearof
theATC.
3. Usethe“TrayOut”buonontheATCSetupscreento
retract the tray.
4. Alwaysre-referencethetooltrayaeracrash.
5. Makesurethatthetoolsthatarephysicallyinthetray
matchthetoolsshownontheATCcontrolscreen.
6. Ifthereisamismatchbetweenthesowareandthe
actualtoolsthatarepresentinthetray,clickthe“Go
ToTrayLoadPosion”buonandthenusethe“Insert”
and“Delete”buonstocorrecttheerror.
Broken Fork Fasteners
Thehexboltsthatholdthetoolforkstothetrayare
nylonshearboltsthathavebeenengineeredtofailunder
greater-than-normalloads.Theseboltswillsnapinthe
eventofatoolcrash,prevenngdamagetotheATC.
NEVER REPLACE THESE BOLTS WITH METAL FASTENERS!
DoingsowillputyourATCatrisktomoreseriousdamage
intheeventofatoolcrash.Ifyouexperienceacrashthat
breakstheseshearbolts,replacethemwiththeextrabolts
providedwiththeATCandrealignthetoolforkusingthe
proceduredescribedinsecon2.3.3.Notethatthefork
hasaU-shapedrabbetononeside.Thisrabbetmustface
downasshowninthefollowingphotos:
