AdjustingtheParkingBrake
Iftheparkingbrakedoesnotholdsecurely,anadjustment
isrequired.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.TurnthekeyintheignitionswitchtotheOFFposition
andwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
3.Checktheairpressureinthedrivetires.
Note:Ifneeded,adjusttotherecommendedination;
refertoCheckingtheAirPressureintheTires(page
38).
4.Loosenthejamnutonthebrakecableunderthe
console(Figure52).

fromthebottomofthelinktothebottomofthespring

through7.
AdjustingtheBrakeSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.TurnthekeyintheignitionswitchtotheOFFposition
andwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
3.Priortoadjustingthebrakeswitch,ensuretheparking
brakeisproperlyadjusted;refertoAdjustingthe
ParkingBrake(page41).
4.Settheparkingbrake.
5.Checkthedistancebetweentheparkingbrake-switch
brackettothebrakearmofthetransmission(Figure
53).
Note:Thedistanceshouldbe3.2mm(1/8inch).

A.Loosenthelocknutandcarriageboltsecuringthe

B.Adjustthepositionofthebrake-switchbracket
untilthegap(Figure53)betweentheswitch
bracketandthebrakearmis3.2mm(1/8inch)
C.Tightenthelocknutandcarriagebolt(Figure53)
securingthebrake-switchbracketto1017to1243
N-cm(90to110lb-in).
