1.Stoptheengine,settheparkingbrake,removethekey,
andwaitforallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
2.Removetheconsolepad;refertoRemovingthe
ConsolePad(page28).
3.Atthebattery,lifttheblackterminalcoveronthe
negativecable(Figure44).

tothenegative(-)batteryterminalwithaangedbolt
andangednut(Figure44).
6.Slidetheblackterminalcoveroverthenegative-battery
terminal.

Important:Alwayskeepthebatteryfullycharged

1.Removethebatteryfromthechassis;refertoRemoving
theBattery(page36).
2.Checktheelectrolytelevel.
3.Ensurethatthellercapsareinstalledonthebattery.
4.Chargethebatteryfor1hourat25to30ampsor6
hoursat4to6amps.
5.Whenthebatteryisfullycharged,unplugthecharger
fromtheelectricaloutlet,anddisconnectthecharger
leadsfromthebatteryposts(Figure45).
6.Installthebatteryontothemachineandconnectthe
batterycables;refertoInstallingtheBattery(page37).
Note:Donotrunthemachinewiththebattery
disconnected;electricaldamagemayoccur.
