1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,movethe
speed-controllevertotheNEUTRALposition,
disengagethePTO,andengagetheparking
brake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
Note:Ensurethattheengineiscoolsothatthe
oilhashadtimetodrainintothesump.
3.Raisethehopper
4.Tokeepdirt,grassclippings,etc.,outofthe
engine,cleantheareaaroundtheoil-llcapand
dipstickbeforeremovingit(Figure40).
5.Removethedipstickandwipetheoiloff.
6.Insertthedipstickandpushitallthewaydown
intothetube.
7.Removethedipstickandreadtheoillevel.
8.Iftheoillevelislow,wipeofftheareaaroundthe
oil-llcap,removecapandlltothefullmarkon
thedipstick(Figure40).
