Donotrefuelorruntheengineunlessthespark
arresterisinstalled.
1.Shutofftheengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,
engagetheparkingbrake,andremovethekey.
2.Waitforthemufertocool.
3.Ifanybreaksinthescreenorweldsareobserved,
replacethearrester.
4.Ifpluggingofthescreenisobserved,removethe
arrester,shakelooseparticlesoutofthearrester,and
cleanthescreenwithawirebrush(soakinsolventif
necessary).
5.Installarresteronexhaustoutlet.

DrainingtheFuelTank
Youcandrainthefueltankbyremovingitandpouringthe
fueloutofthellneck;refertoRemovingtheFuelTank
(page36).Youcanalsodrainthefueltankbyusingasiphon
inthefollowingprocedure.
DANGER
Incertainconditions,gasolineisextremely
ammableandhighlyexplosive.Areorexplosion
fromgasolinecanburnyouandothersandcan
damageproperty.
•Draingasolinefromthefueltankwhenthe
engineiscold.Dothisoutdoorsinanopenarea.
Wipeupanygasolinethatspills.
•Neversmokewhendraininggasoline,andstay
awayfromanopename,orwhereasparkmay
ignitethegasolinefumes.
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotion-controlleversto
theNEUTRAL-LOCKposition,andsettheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position
3.Cleanaroundthefuelcaptopreventdebrisfrom
gettingintothefueltank(Figure47).
4.Removethefuelcap.
5.Insertasyphonpumpintothefueltank.
6.Usingthesyphonpump,drainthefuelintoacleangas
can(Figure47).
7.Wipeupanyspilledfuel.
