RemovingtheClutchShim
1.Shutofftheengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,
andremovethekey.Engagetheparkingbrake.Allow
themachinetocoolcompletelybeforestartingthese
instructions.
2.Usinganaircompressor,blowoutanydebrisfrom
underthebrakepoleandaroundthebrakespacers.

3.Checktheconditionofthewireharnessleads,
connectors,andterminals.
Note:Cleanorrepairasnecessary.
4.Verifythat12Vispresentattheclutchconnector
whenthePTOswitchisengaged.
5.Measurethegapbetweentherotorandthearmature.
Ifthegapisgreaterthan1mm(0.04inch),proceed
withthefollowingsteps:
A.Loosenbothbrake-mountingbolts1/2to1full
turnasshownbelow.
Note:Donotremovethebrakepolefromthe
eldshell/armature.Thebrakepolehasworn
tomatchthearmatureandneedstocontinueto
matchaftertheshimisremovedtoensureproper
braketorque.
