Checktomakesurethatthebrakeisadjustedproperlybefore
adjusting.
1.Drivethemachineontoalevelsurface.
2.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),movethe
motion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCKposition,
andengagetheparkingbrake.
3.Stoptheengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removethekey.
4.Raisethebackofthemachineupandsupportthe
machinewithjackstands.
DANGER
Mechanicalorhydraulicjacksmayfailto
supportmachineandcauseaseriousinjury.
•Usejackstandwhensupportingmachine.
•Donotusehydraulicjacks.
5.Removethereartiresfromthemachine.
6.Removeanydebrisfromthebrakearea.
7.Rotatethedrive-wheel-releasehandletothereleased
position.
8.Checktoseeifthereisavisiblegapbetweenthe
L-bracketandthelinkagestop(Figure74).

12.Engagetheparkingbrakeandcheckthegap.
13.Repeatsteps9through13untilavisiblegapisachieved
andthewheelhubrotatesfreely.
14.Repeatthisprocedureforthebrakeontheopposite
side.
15.Rotatethedrive-wheel-releasehandletotheoperating
position.
16.Installthereartiresandtorquethelugnuts;referto
CheckingtheWheelLugNuts(page44).
17.Removethejackstands.
