1.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch(PTO),movethe
motion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCKposition,
andsettheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Removethedustcapfromthecasterandtightenthe
locknut(Figure64).
4.Tightenthelocknutuntilthespringwashersareatand
thenbackoffa1/4turntoproperlysetthepre-loadon
thebearings(Figure64).
Important:Makesurethatthespringwashersare
installedcorrectlyasshowninFigure64.

Somelatermodelyearunitshavebeenbuiltwithclutchesthat
containabrakeshim.Whentheclutchbrakehasworntothe
