PerformingPre-Starting
Checks
Checkthefollowingitemseachtimeyoubeginuse
ofthesprayerfortheday:
Checktheairpressureinthetires.
Note:Thetiresofthismachinearedifferentthan
cartires;theyrequirelessairpressuretominimize
turfcompactionanddamage.
Checkalluidlevelsandaddtheappropriate
amountofspecieduids,ifanyarefoundtobe
low.
Checkthebrakepedaloperation.
Checktoseethatthelightsareworking.
Turnthesteeringwheeltotheleftandrightto
checksteeringresponse.
Withtheengineshutoff,checkforoilleaks,loose
parts,andanyothernoticeablemalfunctions.
Ifanyoftheaboveitemsarenotcorrect,notifyyour
mechanicorcheckwithyoursupervisorbeforetaking
thesprayeroutfortheday.Yoursupervisormaywant
youtocheckotheritemsonadailybasis,soaskwhat
inspectionsyouareresponsibletoperform.
PreparingtheMachine
CheckingtheEngine-OilLevel
Beforeyoustarttheengineandusethemachine,
checktheoillevelintheenginecrankcase;referto
CheckingtheEngineOil(page57).
CheckingtheCoolingSystem
Beforeyoustarttheengineandusethemachine,
checkthecoolingsystem;refertoCheckingthe
CoolantLevel(page68).
CheckingtheHydraulicSystem
Beforeyoustarttheengineandusethemachine,
checkthehydraulicsystem;refertoCheckingthe
HydraulicFluid(page72).
CheckingtheTireAirPressure
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Checkthetireairpressureinthetirestoensure
properlevels.Fillthetiresto138kPa(20psi).
Note:Also,checkthetiresforwearordamage.
CheckingtheBrakes
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Beforestartingthesprayer,lightlypressthebrake
pedal.Ifthepedaltravelsmorethan2.5cm(1inch)
beforeyoufeelresistance,adjustthebrakes;referto
AdjustingtheBrakes(page70).
WARNING
Ifyouoperatethesprayerwithpoorlyadjusted
orwornbrakes,youcouldlosecontrolofthe
sprayer,resultinginseriousinjuryordeath
toyouorbystanders.
Alwayscheckthebrakesbeforeoperatingthe
sprayerandkeepthemproperlyadjustedand
repaired.

notapprovedforuse.Neverusegasolinethat
containsmorethan10%ethanolbyvolume,such

ethanol).Usingunapprovedgasolinemaycause
performanceproblemsand/orenginedamage
whichmaynotbecoveredunderwarranty.
Important:Forbestresults,useonlyclean,fresh
fuel(lessthan30daysold).
Donotusegasolinecontainingmethanol.
Donotstorefueleitherinthefueltankorfuel
containersoverthewinterunlessyouuseafuel
