2.Pullthefronthalfofthedriveshaft(Figure54)
forwardabout25cm(10inches).

6.Applyanti-siezetotheslidingsurfaceofthe
forwarddriveshaft(Figure54).
7.Movethefronthalfofthedriveshaftrearwardto
aligntheU-jointcouplingwiththegearboxshaft.
8.Wipeoffexcessanti-siezecompoundfromthe
driveshaft.
9.Connectingthedriveshafttothemower-deck
gearbox;refertoConnectingtheDriveshaftto
theMower-DeckGearbox(page75).

•Shutofftheengineandremovethekeybefore
checkingtheoiloraddingoiltothecrankcase.
•Donotchangethegovernorspeedoroverspeed
theengine.
AccessingtheEngine
ManuallyRotatingtheHopper
Important:Usethisproceduretoaccessthe
enginewhentheengineisnotrunning.
Note:Ifthereisgrassinthehopperwhenyou
manuallyrotateit,thegrasswillspillout.
