Toensureasuperiorqualityofcut,keeptheblades
sharp.Forconvenientsharpeningandreplacement,
youmaywanttokeepextrabladesonhand.
Replacethebladesiftheyhitasolidobject,theyare
outofbalance,oratheyarebent.Toensurebest
performanceandcontinuedsafetyconformanceof
themachine,usegenuineTororeplacementblades.
Replacementbladesmadebyothermanufacturers
maynotmeetthesafetystandards.
BladeSafety
Inspectthebladeperiodicallyforwearordamage.
Usecarewhencheckingtheblades.Wrapthe
bladesorweargloves,andusecautionwhen
servicingtheblades.Onlyreplaceorsharpenthe
blades;neverstraightenorweldthem.
Onmulti-bladedmachines,takecareasrotating1
bladecancauseotherbladestorotate.
BeforeInspectingorServicingthe

Preparethemowerdeckformaintenance;refer
toRotatingtheMowerDeckintotheMaintenance

InspectingtheBlades
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Inspectthecuttingedges(Figure103).
2.Iftheedgesarenotsharporhavenicks,remove
andsharpentheblade;refertoSharpeningand
BalancingtheBlades(page73).
3.Inspecttheblades,especiallyinthesailarea.
4.Ifyounoticeanycracks,wear,oraslotforming
inthisarea,immediatelyinstallanewblade
