Youcanadjustthetractionpedalforoperatorcomfort
ortoreduceorincreasethemaximumforwardspeed
ofthemachine.
Youcanalsoadjustthetractionpedaltoreduceor
increasethemaximumreversespeedofthemachine.
1.Movethetractionpedalfullyforward(Figure96).
Formaximumspeed,thereshouldbea3mm
(1/8inch)gapbetweenthetractionpedaland
thetraction-pedalstop.

2.Ifyouwanttoreducetheforwardspeedofthe
machine,performthefollowing:
A.Usingawrench,holdtheforward
traction-pedalstopandloosenthejamnut
onthebacksideofthebracket(Figure96).
B.Movethetractionpedaltothedesired
position(Figure96).
C.Adjustthejamnutonthebackofthe
bracketuntiltraction-pedalstopcontacts
thetractionpedal(Figure96).
Note:Shorteningthetraction-pedalstop
positionwillincreasetheforwardspeedof
themachine.
D.Whileholdingthetraction-pedalstop,torque
thejamnutatthefrontofthebracketto37
to45N∙m(27to33ft-lb).
AdjustingtheTractionRod
Ifmoreadjustmentisrequired,adjustthetractionrod
(Figure97)asfollows:
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.DisengagethePTO,lowerthemowerdeck,and
engagetheparkingbrake.
3.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
4.Removetheboltandnutsecuringtractionrod
endtothepedal.
5.Loosenthejamnutsecuringrodendtothe
tractionrod(Figure97).
6.Rotatetheroduntilyouachievethedesired
length.
7.Tightenthejamnut(Figure97)andsecurethe
rodendtothetractionpedalwiththeboltand
nutremovedtolocktheangleofthefootpedal.
